AI FootPrint Remover

JPEG Metadata Remover

Clean metadata out of JPG and JPEG photos without recompressing them. The image data is copied exactly, so quality cannot drop.

.jpg · up to 15 MB

Files are cleaned in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

What it removes

  • EXIF (APP1): camera make and model, serial numbers, dates, GPS, software
  • XMP and Extended XMP: edit history, ratings, AI source type
  • C2PA / JUMBF (APP11) Content Credentials, including multi-segment manifests
  • IPTC / Photoshop (APP13) captions, keywords and copyright
  • Comments (COM), vendor blocks, and hidden images stored after the end of the file

What stays

  • Compressed image data, untouched, so there's no quality loss
  • JFIF header and Adobe color transform (needed to decode correctly)
  • ICC color profile (optional)
  • Orientation (optional)

How it works

  1. 1Drop your JPG files.
  2. 2Keep or remove orientation and the color profile.
  3. 3Each file is cleaned and verified in your browser.
  4. 4Download the cleaned JPGs.

Frequently asked questions

Most "remove EXIF" tools redraw the image on a canvas and save a new JPEG, which compresses it again. This tool never decodes the picture. It removes the metadata segments and keeps the original compressed data byte for byte.

Some cameras store extra images (previews or depth maps) after the main picture, indexed by an MPF block. They can carry their own EXIF, so they are removed together with EXIF.

Usually yes. The ICC profile tells browsers how to show colors. It doesn't contain personal data. Turn it off only if you need the smallest possible file.

Yes. Baseline, progressive, restart-marker and CMYK/Adobe JPEGs are all supported, because the tool only works at the segment level.

If the file can't be read safely, for example because it is truncated, the tool doesn't produce a download. It tells you the file was not changed.
